Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is seeking a BP approved HAZOP/LOPA Facilitator to join their team in Houston, TX who is experienced in leading HAZOP and LOPA workshops as per GP 48-02 and GP 48-03.
BP approved HAZOP/LOPA Facilitator in Houston, TX. should have a thorough understanding of the technical and managerial issues fundamental to process safety and risk management within the oil and gas industry.
The primary focus will be on the application of technical/process safety tools to a wide range of issues associated with new offshore and onshore projects.
Identify, assess and document HSE risk reduction and control strategies for significant hazards.
Plan/organize/facilitate/lead HSE risk assessment workshops: HAZIDs/HAZOPs/LOPAs, Facility Siting/Layout Studies, Physical Effects Modeling, etc.
Apply risk assessment and ALARP concepts throughout project lifecycle, and evaluate deviation requests.
Support development, modification and implementation of HSSE Management System processes
Self-assured, confident, able to execute responsibilities with minimal guidance.
Strong planning, coordination, and leadership skills.
Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
Ability to work within teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Facilitate technical discussions/risk-based decision-making.
Willingness to travel within USA, internationally, and offshore.
Skilled in technical safety risk assessment tools such as HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA.
Working knowledge of HSSE industry codes and standards (for example ISO and API) and their application in the oil and gas industry.
Working knowledge of HSE risk-based decision-making and documenting arguments for selected course of action
Required and Desired Skills
Experience chairing BP HAZOP/LOPA workshops and be named on the BP Approved Facilitator List
BS in Engineering or Advanced Science degree.
Minimum 5 years in Technical Safety Engineering in an oil and gas offshore/onshore and projects environment in an HSE Case regulatory or corporate environment.
At least 10 years total oil and gas industry experience.
Skilled in Process Safety Management and Technical Safety Engineering in offshore/onshore applications.
Due to current law, and in conjunction with the advertised position’s scope of work, candidates that are Non-US citizens are required to be submitted for further approval to the NNSA before being considered for hiring purposes.
