The role of ‘HR Manager – Projects’ is to plan, execute and finalise projects according to deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives, draw up a detailed plan and oversee quality throughout each stage of the project.
 

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end (alongside a Business Project Lead when appropriate)

• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

• Develop full scale project plans and associated communication documents

• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders

• Determine the resources required to complete project and negotiate required personnel from other HR service lines

• Set and continually manage project expectations with team and stakeholders

• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team

• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path

• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools

• Track milestones and deliverables

• Develop and deliver progress reports

• Proactively manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans

• Coach, mentor and supervise project team

• Build develop and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project

• Conduct project ‘lessons learnt’ and create recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

• Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

• Stakeholder engagement

Requirements

 

• Experience/background of leading HR Shared Services – essential

• Experience including operational excellence; process improvement; increased customer satisfaction; id and integrate industry best practices

• Provides HR professional, thought leadership and guidance on core HR processes, responding to and resolve increasingly complex cases.

• Demonstrate understanding of customer point of view and demonstrate a sense of urgency.

• HR project management experience is essential, ideally dealing with change management

• Ability to solve business problems through diagnostic thinking, effective questioning and creative problem solving. 

• Ability to build strong collaborative win-win relationships with partners to deliver on key goals and objectives. 

• Experience of leading medium and large scale projects in a management capacity

• CIPD qualified – essential

• Project management qualification

• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills

• Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability

• Great attention to detail

• Good communication and influencing skills

• The ability to work well with others and lead a team

• Technical skills relevant to the project

• Good IT skills

• Professionally credible

• Strong interpersonal skills

• UK wide travel will be required as part of this role
