Atkins is going through an exciting period of change. On July 2017 we were acquired by the Canadian listed construction and engineering firm, SNC-Lavalin. Role summary:
Working closely with the HRBP, business leads and other stakeholders you will be responsible for implementing and executing our people strategy. You will be accountable for the delivery of HR operational objectives and processes which are fully aligned with overall business division’s strategy and business targets and company-wide policy.

Reporting to: Head of HR Services
Key Stakeholders: HRBP, HRD, Senior Leadership Teams / Business Lead Teams, HR Managers & Advisors, HR Services and broader HR Community. 


This role is being advertised as FTC for 7 months or 12 months.




Key Accountabilities:
• Act as the key HR contact point across Practice stakeholders to communicate and manage the annual HR activities
• Work closely with the business to understand and address business issues and support local organisational capabilities and development with HR interventions.
• Provide trends and analysis to the business ensuring that the business is achieving its targets
• Act as the key interface in building strong working relationships between the divisional businesses and the HR delivery teams.
• Actively project manage, contribute or procure the correct resource for a multitude of HR activities / projects to support business performance. This may include ‘people priorities’, organisation development, redundancies, performance management, talent review and succession, diversity & inclusion.
• Support Practice Directors with the delivery of the ‘People plan’ e.g. provide input to strategic bids, develop client relationships at an operational level, provide support and advice to Practice Teams on outputs from Talent Management processes and help land corporate HR projects into the Divisions
• Support and coach the lead practice communities
• Share business objectives and plans with HR Managers/HR Advisors to enable effective resource planning and to provide a nationwide view of activities so that there is not a clash of initiatives
• Attend HR Ops meetings & events to provide business updates and to engage with two way communication between the business and HR
• Drive standardisation in the execution of HR policies and processes and assure compliance and governance
• Support and facilitate the development of managers in people management and manager self-service
• Take on delegated authority for the HRBP when required
• Review of complex cases/sensitive issues as required by Divisional HRBP and manage business risk
• Assist to create and support the people agenda within JV and alliances and also building a network with the HR teams of JV partners and clients

Requirements:
• Has very good relationship and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders on HR decisions
• Is experienced in partnering with management and HR experts to implement effective HR interventions.
• Experience with driving change and implementation programs
• Is able to use personal insights into operational processes to influence the activities of the organization.
• Articulate and creative, offering innovative and practical solutions
• Ability to assert independent views and willingness to challenge

• Working experience in dealing with operational HR matters within a business context
