Purpose of the Role:
The Infrastructure Engineer position is a hands-on role to manage, monitor and support the Windows client devices and services including software lifecycle. Working within the Secure Environments Team within Technical Services you will provide support with resolving incidents, implementing customer requests, delivering on projects, delivery of new services and offering technical advice to project teams. You will also help manage software lifecycle and delivery of new software applications.
This role may suit an individual who has extensive experience within a 2nd line support environment and has proven experience troubleshooting desktop related issues within a large organisation. There will be scope to develop scripts and automation processes to support a global environment. The successful candidate will be dynamic, analytical and able to come up with smart solutions within budget constraints.
Key Deliverables/Responsibilities
• Design, build, and deploy desktop solutions
• Delivery of projects and new services.
• Acting as the technical lead for desktop technologies
• Resolving 2nd/3rd line desktop related incident support calls
• Improving and/or automating and scripting administrative procedures
• Transitioning incidents to operational support teams
• Continual service improvement through best practise and new and innovative technologies
• Assist with managing the technology life cycle, deploying appropriate application versions and updates as required
Experience Required
Essential Technical Requirements
To be successful in this role we would expect you to have in depth experience with:
• Windows 7 and 10
• Software lifecycle management
• Desktop hardware
• Mobile device management
• Working within a helpdesk / support environment, dealing with customer issues through to resolution
• Active Directory
• Knowledge of monitoring & reporting based systems
You must also be able to demonstrate experience with
• Troubleshooting software issues on Windows platform
• Understanding of AV products
• Knowledge of Windows security
• Benchmarking and performance tuning
Desirable Technical Experiences
• Networking fundamentals and basic troubleshooting
• Experience working within ITIL aligned Service Delivery organization
• To have worked in an engineering environment

• Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written)
