As a Graduate Landscape Architect within Atkins, you will work towards delivering a diverse range of high-profile landscape, public realm and environmentally focussed projects for both public and private sectors.

We have delivered exciting proposals from concept feasibility through to planning and full implementation on the ground. Our practice wide team of over 70 landscape architects, urban designers and masterplanners work throughout the UK and internationally, delivering award-winning and inspiring designs that transform people’s lives.

What you’ll be doing
With a Master’s/post-graduate degree in landscape architecture and a passion for design, you’ll work with a diverse team of specialists across different regions for research, design and planning on high-profile projects – some of our recent examples include Glasgow waterfront, Morecambe Promenade, Birmingham New Street Station, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Hampstead Heath.

Key activities will involve:
• Assisting in the production of conceptual and detailed designs - associated contract drawings, presentation drawings, schedules and specifications for landscape and urban design improvement schemes
• Develop illustrative graphics, images and visual presentations to prepare base plans
• Providing input into the production of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments [LVIA] and associated planning documents through site surveys and analysis
• Analyse the environmental impact of a proposed development plans and determine the best use of each site

Opportunities are available in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Epsom, London, Leeds and Warrington

Who we’re looking for

• Talented graduates with/expecting a Master’s/post-graduate degree (or equivalent) in Landscape Architecture
• Ability to apply your technical knowledge to analyze problems and create innovative solutions
• Ambition, vision, enthusiasm and the drive to keep on developing your technical skills and achieve Chartered status
• Strong interpersonal and team working skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of 3D software packages. Revit, Civil 3D or VectorWorks will be an advantage
• Understanding and experience of BIM and previous exposure to landscape design is preferable
• Good technical and communication skills and an understanding in site surveying and LVIA
• A flexible approach to travel as our projects and training may take you to a variety of locations in the UK and possibly abroad
