Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join the nuclear team in Aiken, SC.  

 

Job Description

 

Works from Maintenance Instructions, maintenance manuals and supervisor direction

 

Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility control and instrumentation equipment

 

Performs calibrations and functional checks on instrumentation using measuring and test equipment

 

Performs troubleshooting tasks on control and instrumentation equipment

 

Works from maintenance instructions, work orders, maintenance manuals and supervisor direction

 

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on facility control and instrumentation equipment

 

Performs calibrations and functional checks on instrumentation using measuring and test equipment

 

Performs troubleshooting tasks on control and instrumentation equipment

 

Completes work history and maintains log entries in the computerized maintenance management system

 

Ensures proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Processes/procures material, parts and equipment.

 

Maintains equipment supply and availability

 

Participates in emergency preparation drills and emergency responses

 

Ensures compliance with company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations

 

There is no supervision of other workers at this level

 

Responsible for the quality of his/her own work and satisfying customer (internal and external) specifications

 

Must be able to work independently and resolve practical problems

 

Performs other duties as assigned



Job Requirements

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to pass WorkKeys examinations for Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information

Normal Vision (with or without correction)

Ability to understand and apply health and safety information

Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams

Basic Computer skills

Ability to comprehend procedure and work package instructions as applicable

Working knowledge of local, state and federal safety compliance regulations

Working knowledge of the interpretation of local, state and federal safety compliance regulations

Working knowledge of the principles and practices of safety compliance

Working knowledge of, and skill in using, monitoring instrumentation and methods

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and their use (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and database applications

Ability to perform physically demanding work

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and environments where there is exposure to noise, chemicals, and mechanical and electrical hazards

Ability to lift 50 lbs and wear a respirator


Required Experience/ Education

High school diploma or GED

2-4 years of related experience in control and instrumentation
