Interior Design Lead

The Atkins Infrastructure Team are looking to recruit a Interior Design Lead. As one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies, the Atkins infrastructure division works with both UK and International Clients to plan, design and enable some of the most challenging and complex building and infrastructure projects in the world.

As a Interior Design Lead you will be based in the Bristol office, and will lead team of 6 within the multi-office Interior Design Studio. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear ability and proven track record of working as part of a team to deliver exceptional results aligned with strategic business ambitions, have excellent communication skills, the ability to positively influence decisions and the will be a proactive & energetic team leader able to motivate a team to deliver exceptional results. Successful candidates will work locally, nationally and internationally win and deliver work and there will be a requirement for flexibility in respect of travel and location based on project and business demands.


Requirements

• BA(hons) in Interior Design/Architectural technology or similar qualification
• Or equivalent experience in working within the Interior Design/Design and Build (D&B) industry
• Relevant post-graduate experience of working within the industry
• Proven ability to use AutoCAD (Revit would also be beneficial)
• Experience of using 3DSmax to model interior environments would be an advantage
• Good knowledge of Adobe programs, especially InDesign and Photoshop
• Knowledge of general building construction and a basic understanding of how buildings are put together, plus experience of detailing would be very beneficial.
• Ability to write specifications, schedules and presentations
• Proactive, problem solving and creative thinker
• Interest in current interior design trends and philosophies from workplace environment solutions to colour theory
• Experience in different design sectors would be beneficial

Essential Criteria

• Ability to sketch/draw by hand
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver work to deadlines
• Ability to use AutoCAD/Revit, InDesign, SketchUp, Specification & schedule writing and Photoshop
• BIM levels 1 & 2
• Motivated to work on their own as well as be part of the Interior design team and the wider Atkins multidiscipline teams.
• Proven track record of detailing interiors projects with commercial experience
• Ability to design to relevant British standards and building regulations for interior fit-out jobs
• Able to liaise with subcontractor and suppliers
• Familiar with current materials and FF&E
