Internal Engagement Manager, Digital

  1. Corporate

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Atkins is going through an exciting period of change. On July 2017 we were acquired by the Canadian listed construction and engineering firm, SNC-Lavalin. The combined group now has approximately 50,000 employees around the world and both Atkins and SNC-L’s offerings combined give us the opportunity to continue our growth. In addition, Atkins has been going on a journey to grow our digital footprint, both internally in terms of how we deliver our services more efficiently, and also externally to bring new and different offerings to our clients. From apps, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, to mobility as a service and digital asset management, we are combining our traditional engineering skills with technology to fundamentally change the way we do things.

Reporting to the Group Digital Marketing Director, this role is aligned to our central digital team – not digital in the sense of online channels such as websites, intranets etc, but digital in terms of the new technologies we are selling to our clients and the different ways in which we are delivering engineering and construction services. Just like all other industries, the use of technologies is disrupting the engineering and construction sector which offers a great opportunity but is also a significant change for the organisation. Essential to achieving this is both educating our internal audience on the possibilities this can bring their clients, and also involving the organisation as we go on this journey to move from a traditional culture to one of greater agility.

We are looking for an ambitious internal engagement professional to build a strategy from a blank sheet of paper. With extensive experience in an internal engagement role, ideally with some exposure to a matrix style organisation, you will bring creative thinking and the ability to join up disparate messages under one roof. The role will involve a mix of hands on work – copywriting, storyboarding, filming etc, as well as the overall strategy and planning from the outset. You will be part of a small team of 4, including 2 external marketing managers, both of which will be new to SNC-Lavalin as well. The ultimate role of this team is to shift the perception in the minds of our target audience from a traditional engineering and construction firm to one that is digital and innovative.

We are looking for someone who can work at pace and build strong relationships within a complex organisation. You will be joining us during an initial period of ambiguity so must be comfortable with this kind of environment and be keen to help provide some structure. And it’s essential you are experienced at using influence and evidence based ROI to shift our internal communications approach from disparate to one global and compelling programme of content.

Atkins offers a fantastic range of benefits, which you can tailor to suit your own health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle choices.
All the information you need to know is available on our dedicated benefits portal; your reward, which is available to access 24/7 from any device: http://www.yourrewardatkins.com
