Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tolls Transportation Group as an IT Project Manager (Software Development). This position will be located at the client site in Boca Raton, FL.

Under direction, applies technical expertise and project management experience to manage projects and schedules for Information Technology Software Development groups. Assists staff in developing work plans, reviews and prepares budgets, and projects milestone dates.


JOB DUTIES

Lead and/or support planning, development and management of key operational projects, partnering with business owners, team members and other key personnel across various departments.

Meets with internal clients, the supervisor, and other managers to determine project needs and gather and document requirements.

Communicates with clients throughout the project life cycle to manage customer expectations, resolve issues, and provide project status.

Proactively manages change in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans.

Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget and quality objectives.

Schedules and coordinates project meetings with the project team, clients, and others involved with the project.

Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools like MS Project and SharePoint.

Tracks project milestones and deliverables and communicates status to the team.

Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.

Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.

Schedule, coordinate and participate in project meetings with the project team, regulatory agencies, the client, and others involved with the projects.

Work with all stakeholders to articulate achievable goals, requirements and schedule.

Provide updates to stakeholder via regular status meetings and publishing status reports.

Work with Project Portfolio Manager to compile information for creation of presentations as requested.

Manage multiple projects in parallel, including highly complex projects, including new projects and major enhancements to existing systems.

May supervise technical professionals, associate project managers and design staff including workload and staffing management.

Identifies new business opportunities for the firm, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promotes firm's capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.

Participates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of firm's qualification/experience statements.

Manage Statement of Work (3rd party vendor) through project lifecycle to ensure all contracted deliverables have been achieved (where applicable).

Manage financial, scope, and critical path schedule for assigned projects. Monitor client billings, assists in obtaining payment from clients, and resolves client disputes, adjusting project billing records as required.

Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

B.S. or B.A in Computer Science or other related field. This level may be achieved by practitioners with 7 years of experience since related Bachelor's degree or 4 years since Master's degree. Typical incumbent has 8-10 years' experience as a Project Manager.


SPECIAL SKILLS

Experience in application of business analysis methodologies. Agile is preferred.

Experience with software development lifecycle, application deployment and information systems planning. Experience working with Java is preferred.

Proven collaborative leadership with effective negotiation, interpersonal and partnering skills.

Strong written and verbal and listening communication skills; good public speaking ability.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Seasoned project planning skills with the ability to handle large workload, the ability to anticipate required tasks & milestones, and facilitate the activities of dynamic workgroups.

Experience in obtaining resources needed to effectively complete project assignments & tasks in a matrix organization.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong project financial management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft personal computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Project Server; Working knowledge of SharePoint and other Project Management / production support systems.

Ability to plan, prioritize and review project plans and documents, evaluate alternatives, and devise appropriate solutions.


PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

Certified “Project Management Professional” (PMP) through the Project Management Institute preferred.

Six-Sigma Certification is a plus.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment.

Ability to work under the pressure of multiple projects.

Ability to visit project sites if necessary.

Travel may be required. For those positions where frequent local travel is required and no company vehicle is available, incumbent must own, and be legally able to operate, a motor vehicle. The vehicle must be in good working order, and insured. Mileage reimbursement allowance will be available.
