As a global multi-disciplinary consultancy The Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T) Division within Atkins is at the leading edge of digital Asset Management (dAM) and is currently recruiting for a Junior Asset Management Consultant. Atkins offers a range of independent and unbiased advice in engineering, technical and strategic advisory services to a wide breadth of markets and clients.

Atkins is a member of the Aurora Engineering Partnership which, subject to contract, will support the Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) transformation strategy as the Engineering Delivery Partner.

We are strengthening the Asset Management consulting team within ADS&T to meet increasing market demand for advisory Strategic Asset Management, Digital and Asset Performance Management services. These services include business operations, strategy, people management, change management, accounting/finance, risk management and information systems all coordinated to realise maximum value from physical assets.

Overview / Responsibilities
Successful candidate may be required to travel regionally and nationally as per role and project needs.

Prime responsibilities for the role are:
• Knowledge of principles and methods of asset management across multiple domains to provide advice and guidance on technical and investment decisions.
• Experience of working directly with clients to provide advice and guidance on investment decisions.
• Contribute in problem-solving, deal well with ambiguity and new content in a very broad range of situations across asset management activities, including input to bid proposals/tender responses.
• Willingness to learn and able to diversify across multiple projects and domains.

Skills / Qualifications 
Technical Knowledge and Experience
Essential

• Good working knowledge and understanding of Asset Management principles, procedures and processes.
• Ability to manage and adapt with potential ambiguity or new content in a very broad range of situations.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and contribute with a problem-solving, investigative and innovative skillset.
• Experience of working directly with clients to provide advice and guidance on asset management technical matters, including problem-solving
• Precise data handling, interpretation and manipulation skills.
• Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentation). 

Desirable
• Understanding of Mil Stan 1388, Def Stan 00-60/00-600, JSP886 experience. 
• ISO 55000 or PAS 55 experience.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and contribute with a problem-solving, investigative and innovative skillset.
• Have an interest in asset management matters through membership of associated societies, production of related articles/papers.
• Broad engineering domain knowledge.
• HNC/HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline or demonstrable relevant practical and theoretical engineering experience.
• Aspiration or working towards Chartered engineer or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience of working in wider markets, with experience of consultancy selling to external clients.
• Awareness or emerging experience in developing and maintaining plans, reliability and maintainability (R&M) analysis and obsolescence management.
• Previous asset management experience, in defence or other high hazard industries is highly desirable, but not essential.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
