SNCL Atkins has recently defined a “One Atkins 2020” Organisational strategy. To support this strategy, GIS has defined an operating model for 2020 to revolutionise the way GIS is provided to the organisation, moving from a BAU focus to a Business Value driven organisation. Key concepts include: moving to digital products, adopting agile across the organisation, leveraging cloud, and focus on supporting bid and delivery. In order for Atkins to stay ahead of its competitors we need a suite of digital products and services that will meet the ONE Atkins 2020 vision. Working collaboratively with the Business and People and Business Operations community you will be bring the creativity, technical knowledge and commercial acumen to create BI and analytics which meet the demands of the Business.

SNCL Atkins currently have an opportunity for Junior Technical Financial Analyst / Systems Accountant, the vacancy location is Worcester.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Configuration of the systems to meet these demands, as well as all aspects of user support, including liaising with staff to capture requirements for any enhancement requests or bespoke development.
  • Report on a timely basis and escalate issues to management at the appropriate time
  • You will work closely with the Accounting and Reporting functions to ensure that the necessary systems and processes are in place to derive the data and reports necessary to evaluate operating results.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly reports that evaluate company performance and developing additional reports to suit changing requirements. 
  • Respond to ad hoc requests, producing high quality reports and data to enable informed business decisions.
  • Perform daily controls on systems and data including validation, integrity,  KPI
  • Assist with the audit process

Person Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials and passion for self development and learning.
  • The candidate will be expected to study for the relevant professional qualification.
  • Have a talent for numbers and you know that the next step is to learn as a member of a global business
  • Advanced PC skills notably MS Office suite (MS Word & MS Excel), with strong problem solving skills and methodical approach to problems, has genuine interest in technology and systems. Able to demonstrate use of Excel formulae.
  • Result orientated individual with a driven and proactive approach, and desire to add value. 
  • You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as, being able to foster strong working relationships with peers and senior management using your excellent interpersonal skills. 

Training

The role has a mandatory expectation for the undertaking of a professional qualification with bodies such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar. Atkins are a platinum approved learning partner with ACCA and as such provides full financial study support and training.

Who should apply

  • Part / Qualified AAT
  • or Sage bookkeeping / similar accreditation
  • or have three A Levels (or equivalent qualifications in a relevant business area)
  • or have entry level experience in a finance related position
