Maintenance Oversight Specialist

Atkins Nuclear, now part of the SNC-Lavalin nuclear division has been operating for over 40 years with operations based in the Canada, UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America, and are fully engaged in the development of the next generation of nuclear power.

Our middle east office, centred in Abu Dhabi, has become one of the largest nuclear consultancies across the region, and at the forefront of emerging nuclear power markets.

We also support many of the regional power and infrastructure projects, working closely with the parts of the SNC Lavalin group. We are looking for talented electrical, mechanical or I&C maintenance experts to join our nuclear team and provide direct support into our client.  This will be a site based role.

You will be expected to be based in Abu Dhabi and split time between the Barakah site and our Abu Dhabi engineering office.  International travel may be required.

• Responsibilities:

• Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for:

• Becoming familiar and proficient with the customers plant maintenance manuals, processes and procedures
• Provide oversight on maintenance activities performed by contractors
• Perform technical administrative activities when needed
• Ensuring lessons learnt are captured for future activities
• Coaching and mentoring junior maintenance engineers

Essential requirements: 

• Degree qualified in a related Engineering or Science based discipline, or equivalent vocational qualification in maintenance (mechanical, I&C or electrical);
• At least 10 years in the nuclear power industry;
• Experience of nuclear plant maintenance and/or outages
• Fluent English
• Ability to work across differing cultures respectfully
