We are currently looking for an experience Management Accountant to join us working out of our South Mimms office on a 9 – 12 month fixed term contract.




Main Purpose of the Job:

 

The main purpose is to assist the Financial Controller in the management of the Finance function, primarily with regards to the control of a number of costs centres (to be agreed) within the business, and reporting thereon, to the satisfaction of the Financial Controller.

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

 

·         Assist various cost centre managers (to be agreed) in the controlling of costs within their respective cost centres.

·         Building efficient and effective working relationships with these mainly non-Finance proficient staff to assist them as required in the financial control and understanding of their departments.

·         Produce management accounts and other analysis / reports for these cost centres in order to ensure that the business can interpret and understand the complex and challenging issues that it faces.

·         Work with the other Management Accountant(s) to ensure that the Financial accounts are produced accurately and timely, with proper controls particularly with regards to Balance Sheet reconciliations.

·         Assist the Financial Controller in the production of innovative and insightful analysis of the business, and in the control of efficient and effective systems within the department.

·         Maintain the cash flow register and bi-weekly and monthly forecasting requirements.

·         Raise invoices, maintain and monitor the aged debtors.

·         Control bank payments and processing ensuring payments made in line with expectations.

·         Prepare the quarterly VAT returns.

·         Maintain awareness of and compliance with the Integrated Management System.

·         Support systems maintenance and reconciliations.

·         Ensure that dealings with others at work, both internally and externally are conducted in line with the policies on Diversity & Equality and Dignity at Work.

·         Ensure that holiday and sickness cover is provided for other members of the finance team.

·         Carry out any other relevant duties as required within the Department, or as required by your line manager.

 

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

 

·         Experience in producing Finance reports and accounts, and working closely with senior managers.

·         Good team management skills and have experience of working collaboratively within a team to achieve joint goals and objectives.

·         A service outlook to how Finance operates within the business

·         Previous experience of balance sheet reconciliations, management accounts write ups and controlled reporting within the team.

·         Substantial experience in producing finance reports and accounts.

·         Qualified accountant desirable or Qualified by experience.
