Atkins is looking for a Marketing Manager to support growth in our Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology Division, where our clients face a challenging future with potential disruption, threats and opportunities resulting from the convergence of the physical and digital worlds.

A strategic thinker who's able to quickly understand business priorities and translate them into marketing solutions that deliver ROI, you'll be proactive and focused on results, as well as being a strong team player with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
 
As part of the marketing and communications team you will work closely with people from across our market teams and technical specialisms, leading on campaigns to support our growth.
 


Responsibilities
 
  • Define and deliver marketing and communications campaigns to support the division's strategic aims in our identified growth areas
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships with the 'engine room' teams who are our technical and market specialists driving our growth agenda
  • Develop key messages and value propositions that bring our offer to life and can be used as the foundations for our marketing and communications work
  • Build and leverage relationships with key industry bodies and trade associations
  • Work with the PR manager and technical and market leads to develop thought leadership and media material
  • Work with the events manager to deliver first class events - covering trade shows, conferences, bespoke client events and more - that build our brand and position us to win work
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in our markets, including client and competitor intelligence; share this information and use it to inform forward marketing and communications activity
  • Develop a range of content to demonstrate our proposition, capability and experience, including case studies, capability statements and multimedia
  • Measurement and evaluation of marketing and communications activity
  • Budget and supplier management
 
Requirements
 
  • B2B and professional services experience a strong advantage
  • Able to quickly assimilate technical knowledge and distil this into clear value propositions
  • Strategic thinker who is comfortable influencing and advising senior members of the business
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, both internal and external. Able to build a network of contacts within the business and externally
  • Proactive and driven to deliver results; a 'hands-on' approach to delivery
  • Experience of applying new/innovative/creative marketing solutions to old challenges
  • Experience of working in high technology / digital markets an advantage
  • Flexible - happy with a varied workload and working with a range of specialisms
  • Good knowledge of using marketing intelligence and client understanding to drive marketing and communication decisions
  • A good team player; willing to roll their sleeves up and get things done and willing to be flexible and support the wider team when required
  • Able to effectively manage workload and prioritise; experience of managing multiple projects
  • Thorough and organised, with good attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator
  • Able to work under their own initiative
  • Professional qualification with CIM or other relevant professional body advantageous
