Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,500 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah.

Requirements:

The Materials Inspector will be a degree holder, preferably in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

Report to the Senior Materials Engineer.
Keep daily records.
Carry out daily inspection of the works and sign off the relevant part of the contractor’s RFI’s in a timely manner.
Raise any non conformances or poor workmanship with the Senior Materials Engineer in a timely manner.
Raise any safety issues with the Safety officer, keeping the Resident Engineer informed
Be responsible for the QA/QC procedures, inspection and testing of materials.
Review the contractor’s materials’ submissions.
Review and assess the materials delivered to site in conjunction with the Senior Materials Engineer
Inspect and approve materials manufactured on site in conjunction with the Senior Materials Engineer
Review all materials test results.
Identify non conforming work and liaise with the Senior Materials Engineer for further action and close out.
Be able to read construction drawings
Understand material specifications and capable of enforcing the specifications from the contractor and the various supply chains.
Previous Middle East experience would be preferred
