Atkins Nuclear seeks energetic and highly motivated self-starters to join our nuclear team as a Nuclear Oversight Assessors.


SUMMARY
Conduct assessments, in accordance with regulatory or internal ENEC/plant guidance, to provide ENEC and nuclear leadership an independent perspective of the operational or operational readiness performance of plant programs, processes and procedures. Provide support and guidance of the Central Functional Area Manager (CFAM) functional area performance assessments. Provide nuclear management guidance or recommendations on how to improve the performance of the organization based on the findings of the assessment(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operations Performance Assessments
• Conduct physical observations of work being performed in the plant to ensure alignment with standards and requirements.
• Create observation reports and provide feedback to Functional Owners and Senior Leadership on operational performance areas of concern and recommend corrective actions to improve performance.
• Facilitate the engagement of internal and external functional experts to provide timely and technically sound recommendations to correct observations/documented areas for improvement.
• Conduct performance assessments, at the direction of Senior Leadership, to ensure corrective actions have been closed with quality and they will not persist in operations. 

Operational Readiness
• Investigate operational readiness preparations and conduct independent performance assessments to ensure the successful, safe start-up and operation of all nuclear units in compliance with management expectations, regulatory requirements and best industry standards

Functional Assessments
• Provide support (as needed) for plant CNO functional assessments to ensure an efficient and effective assessment.
• Provide support (as needed) for Corporate ENEC CNO functional assessments to ensure an efficient and effective assessment.

Nuclear Oversight Governance
• Provide input to establishing or updating ENEC Nuclear Oversight best practices and support development of standardized policies, programs and processes to enhance organizational effectiveness

Stakeholder Management
• Confer with utility peers, industry advisory groups, and U.A.E. regulatory agencies to maintain cooperative relationships and information exchange focused on operational readiness and performance improvement.
• Manage the gathering of nuclear power program health information from external oversight reviews and inspections, Nuclear Safety Review Board (NSRB) meetings, ENEC and plant management review meetings, internal audits and inspections, and through peer discussions, and strategically apply this information to address areas of concern.

Health and Safety and Security
• Follow all relevant company’s Health and Safety policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure compliance in all aspects of work as per sound management practices. Apply these policies and procedures to self and others to ensure reasonable care of the health and safety of the employee; the environment; and various individuals who may be affected by the employee’s acts or omissions at work.
• Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
• Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission critical activities.

People Management
• Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
• Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance

Excellence and Quality Management
• Ensure commitment to a culture of continuous improvement by eliminating waste, following operations procedures, practicing innovation, problem solving, and teamwork; complying with Quality Management System policies and procedures; providing and receiving constructive feedback, and striving to meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.

Communication and Working Relationships
• Internal: All plant/ENEC Departments and Divisions
• External: International nuclear utilities and other industry entities (Regulatory, Oversight, Support, etc.) including but not limited to the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), the Institute of Nuclear Operations (INPO), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Nuclear Energy Institute, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR).



QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree with 3 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in English as per OR-PRC-0001
• Minimum of US Nuclear regulatory Commission (USNRC) Senior Reactor Operator License or certification or equivalent
• Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline or a Master's degree with emphasis in organizational excellence.
• Preferred 7 years of experience including 4 years "Function Specific" (operations, maintenance, engineering, etc.) experience
• Preferred experience working with nuclear power international organizations and advisory groups
