Operations Manager – Linxon Sweden:

Shaping energy solutions to empower sustainable connectivity

We combine ABB’s deep technological knowledge and SNC-Lavalin’s project management expertise to create a company dedicated to substations – we are Linxon.

Linxon is a joint venture company set up by SNC-Lavalin and ABB to turnkey electrical AC substation projects. Linxon will undertake turnkey electrical alternating current substation projects related to renewable and conventional power generation, power transmission and transportation solutions. Turnkey solutions will include project design, engineering, procurement, construction, management, commissioning and after-sales support.

As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for all aspects related to operations of the Linxon Projects including the full scope of Engineering, execution, Supply Chain, Quality & Operational Excellence, Value Chain Planning, Project Controls reporting to the HUB EU, and locally to the Project Office Manager. Ensures strict adherence within the operations to the policies and required standards of health, safety and integrity of the company standards. 


Tasks

• Leads implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local and regional project operation under the guidance of HUB/Global Operations and the Project Office Manager.
• Ensures that the local portfolio of projects is managed consistently, based on best practices and Policies. 
• Leads and overseas the project execution teams locally ensuring that company policies are consistently followed. Develops, customizes and continuously improves standard processes and work instructions by adopting company and external best practices. Ensures that lessons learned from project execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions.
• Participates in the budgeting process, jointly with Hub/Global and Controller. Participates in Sales and Operations planning with the Hub and POM, and takes actions to close potential gaps in project execution capacity. 
• Supervises project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and Project Managers to ensure contract fulfilment, and approves any project deviations. Takes an active role in preventing and resolving escalated issues, especially those raised by the customer. 
• Ensures the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
• Ensures that projects consistently apply contract and claims management, in accordance with company policies and contractual agreements.
• Builds and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Serves as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues within the project execution team.
• Validates and supports that adequate HSE measures are taken in the respective project operations functions and that an HSE culture is implemented and maintained in the organization.
• Support Sales with accurate and realistic budget for project execution, time schedules, project and site organization during tender stage of new opportunities
• Build strong long term relations ship with local partners for execution of on shore portion of the projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Engineering, Project Management)
• Extensive work experience in Project Management/Construction of Substations and in a similar role
• Experience in handling Onshore/Offshore Construction Substation Projects
• Experience as a line manager 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 
• Experience in Process Management and IS application technology
• Solid Business Unit process knowledge or general operational knowledge
• English and Swedish language
