Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta Intermodal Group as a P6 Project Scheduler.  

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE:


Prepares project schedules, assesses schedule performance status of Authority projects, and provides credible project schedule analysis for assigned projects. Develops, evaluates, maintains, and distributes project schedules for various types of projects including projects for expansion, maintenance, renovation and rehabilitation of the transit system.  Prepares schedule related information for contract documents such as contract conditions pertaining to time available for completion of work, scheduling specifications and schedule related exhibits.  Integrates schedules maintained by contractors or consultant into an overall schedule for a project or program of projects.  Provides training to internal staff, project managers, consultants, and contractors on detailed project schedules during both project planning and project execution.  Assists with administration of track maintaining and coordinating track allocation schedule, planning time in track way and facilitating weekly track allocation meetings.


JOB DUTIES:


1.  Prepares, evaluates, maintains, and distributes project schedules for various types of capital projects related to expansion, renovation, rehabilitation or maintenance of the transit system, including labor, material and equipment resources and costs required to perform the project activities.


2.   Prepares schedule related information for contract documents such as contract conditions pertaining to time available for completion of work, scheduling specifications and schedule related exhibits.  Integrates schedules maintained by contractors or consultant into an overall schedule for a project or program of projects. 


3.  Prepares schedule related contract documents such as contract conditions pertaining to time available for completion of work, scheduling specifications and schedule related exhibits.  Employee assists portfolio managers and project owners as required in other aspects of preparing project origination documents.


4.  Reviews and analyzes progress schedules, including labor productivity, resource usage and expenditure of funds.  Provides scheduling support as required for resolution to changes, claims and other issues related to Authority projects.


5.  Performs other related duties as assigned.


 



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline is required.  Five years of progressively responsible experience in project management three of which must have involved scheduling, multi-project work programs, including the development, monitoring, updating, reporting and presentation of project plans and schedules using P6.  Work experience in a rapid transit environment is desired.  Must have well developed verbal and written communications skills.  High level negotiating, administrative, analytical, problem-solving and planning skills are required.  Experience with spreadsheet, database and word processing software required.  Proficiency with Primavera P6 Project Management is required. Primavera Contract Manager (Expedition) desired.  Directly related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of educational requirement.
