Planning Manager - Transportation

The business is seeking a Planning Manager with extensive experience in the detailed control of large complex rail and highways infrastructure projects. The role within our Transportation business, requires a strong technical background in the rail and or highways industry. The successful applicant will be a Planning Manager providing comprehensive controls and governance to the project teams and to the client. Reporting into the Project Controls Manager, with accountability to Project Managers, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering all aspects of scheduling, cost, and risk and opportunity management, whilst line managing staff in all these fields and interfacing with other project leaders.

Position Responsibilities
Accountable for:
• Create required Project Control Management Documents
• Day to Day Line Management duties of the Planning Team
• Sign off on Programme Updates and Communicate issues
• Programme Integration Management
• Dashboard, Status & KPI Reporting
• Monitoring and communication of Critical Paths
• Conduct Planning Audits on a Periodic Basis to ensure compliance to process and procedures
• Key Milestone Reporting
• Delivering Work within Possession compliance
• Liaison with Risk Manager for all relevant QSRA’s required
• Liaison with Change Manager to ensure current implemented change is incorporated in Programme.
• Ensure Network Rail Critical Resource Requirements are communicated through the Programme
• Prepare & Monitor Hour by Hour Programmes for all Disruptive Possession Works

Experience and Skills Requirements
Expected: Experience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects in a planning role. In depth knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Packages and Earned Value Management techniques.
