Job Purpose & Scope: 


Carries out Planning and Scheduling functions in a professional manner in accordance with Saudi Aramco standards. Job responsibilities are related to the execution of major capital projects in support of the Capital Program. Included are analysis and evaluation of proposed project execution, resource requirements and potential impacts at the project and program levels.


The scope of the Saudi Aramco Capital Program requires Company wide planning in the form of the Master Scheduling System, Project Execution Planning and Planning and Scheduling standards and procedures involving interfaces with all areas of the Company to verify and fulfill facility requirements. This effort includes Project Management agencies; front end planning and program integration/ identification and evaluation of program/project inter-dependencies; trend and impact analysis; development and maintenance of a Master Project Schedule; resource demand and utilization assessment at project, department and corporate levels. Prepares reports, studies and assignments for review by Supervisor and/or Project Manager; however, the incumbent is expected to function at a fully professional level and solve the majority of his assignments with a minimum of supervision.


Additional responsibilities may include immediate supervision of one or more Scheduling Analysts, as required and participation in orientation and training of junior Saudi Scheduling Analysts to ensure conformity to planning scheduling procedures and policies.


Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Provides staff guidance to Engineering and Construction supervisors in one or more areas of planning and scheduling expertise by analyzing and evaluating all pertinent data.
  • Analyzes portions of Aramco major capital projects to plan the most effective execution sequence in light of experience and current industry practices.
  • Discusses, coordinates and resolves long term and short term planning and scheduling problems with personnel throughout the Company and with contractor organizations.
  • Assists in the technical evaluation of contracts relative to their expertise in planning and scheduling and analyzes in detail performance relative to planning, reporting and forecasting methods of contractors.
  • Evaluates the planning and scheduling information collected from Project Management Teams or contractors and advises supervision of exceptions to plan and potential corrective action and/or impact to the project.
  • Provides staff assistance in the preparation and maintenance of the Master Scheduling System in support of the capital program planning effort and/or other planning and scheduling reports, procedures and services.
  • Assists in evaluating the effectiveness and appropriateness of planning and scheduling information collected from project teams or contractors and advises of significant exceptions to proposed and approved conditions and recommends corrective actions.
  • Assists in orientation and training of Scheduling Analysts IV and Professional Development Program employees and Saudi development in general.
  • Wherever possible provides computer application and support, both main frame and PC, in performing his duties.

  • Able to work within a defined role with limited supervision. 
  • Exercises judgment in making decisions; know when to seek advice.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or appropriate experience
  • Site construction experience would be advantageous
  • A proven track record in FEED and EPC phases of refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical or similar facilities including revamp projects
  • Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience.
  • An understanding of Delay and Disruption Analysis, Live Project Planning and Detailed design and construction process
  • Self-motivated, energetic and tenacious
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels up to top managementIT/Computer Literacy In particular Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to apply planning theory, process and best practices
  • Willing to share information and develop junior staff
  • Must have worked on large scale infrastructure projects ideally with a minimum of 1 years’ experience in the MEA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
