Power Engineering Consultant

Atkins Nuclear, now part of the SNC-Lavalin nuclear division has been operating for over 40 years with operations based in the Canada, UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America, and are fully engaged in the development of the next generation of nuclear power.

Our middle east office, centered in Abu Dhabi, has become one of the largest nuclear consultancies across the region, and at the forefront of emerging nuclear power markets.

We also support many of the regional power and infrastructure projects, working closely with the there parts of the SNC Lavalin group. We are looking for a talented individual to join our Abu Dhabi based HQ to help us deliver a broad range of consulting work both to our conventional and nuclear power clients.

Responsibilities:

• Working across high end consulting type roles, preparing feasibility studies, conceptual designs or assessments of existing assets
• Writing reports or presentations to high standards
• Developing relationships with our regional clients
• Working across broad generation types (solar, waste-to-energy, thermal, nuclear)
• Likely to need to travel between the UAE and Saudi Arabia

Essential Criteria:

• Degree qualified in an engineering field
• At least 4 years experience in advisory services for power generation or power transmission (not detailed design)
• Strong understanding of power systems and associated major equipment
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills to deal with people at all levels
• Commercial and financial awareness
• Experience in prioritizing a varied and busy workload and with the use of own initiative at all times
• Fluent written and spoken English
