Atkins Global Design Center (GDC), India is looking for experienced Structural Engineers to  work on some of the most exciting projects.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects on multidisciplinary projects.  
• Applies professional knowledge and experienced judgement, but refers to more senior staff for more complex matters  
• Develop schematic and detail bridge designs from the concept designs for large projects and develop concepts for small to medium projects.  
• Should have wide experience on design and Analysis of RC and Prestressed bridges (Major, Minor, Culverts and underpasses etc). Also Should have experience in the analysis and design of steel bridge.  
• Should have experience in designing bridges to international standards such as AASHTO, Eurocode etc.  
• Shall check and carry out independent reviews of work done by the team and of other projects as directed by the Principal Structural engineer.  
• Provide technical direction and on the job training to junior members of the team.  
• Able to present their technical work and that of their team on the project.  
• Provide site backup on technical/design issues, where required  
• Shall ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned tasks between all the disciplines.  
• Managing one’s own time and time of others reporting to them.  
• Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities, but will not have formal client or sales accountability.  
• Responsible for compliance with Atkins QA/QC procedures and implementation of procedures. Should have worked on development of Project Execution Plan (PEP) for major and MD projects  
• Keep abreast of latest trends and technologies.  

Essential Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil engineering from a recognized Institute with a minimum of 15 to 20 years of industry experience or Masters in Structural engineering from recognized institute with a minimum of 14 to 16 years of industry experience.  
• Have sound understanding of finite element analysis and shall be proficient ideally in RM Bridge, Midas, LUSAS SAFE and other analysis software’s.  
• In addition to Indian standards, shall be proficient in at-least one of the international codes of practice such as British, American and IBC etc.  
• Shall be a technical expert in one of the sectors such as infrastructure, bridges, residential, commercial, hospitality, industrial etc.  

Desirable Requirements: 

• Experience of working on international standards is an added advantage.  
• Experience on different elements of Metro Projects such as Viaduct, Stations, Cut & Cover, etc.  
• Experience on Bridges with Advanced construction techniques such as Balanced Cantilever, PSM/PCB or Full Span Launching Techniques.  
• Assessment of Bridge and Infrastructure elements of projects (e.g Retaining Walls, Culverts, foundations) as per BS/other European standards (Swedish/Danish).  
• Preferably Chartered Engineer of institutes such as IStructE, ICE.  
• Experience in more than two bridge engineering software such as LUSAS, SAM-LEAP, MIDAS, RM Bridge or SuperSUITE.  
• Working Knowledge of software’s such as AUTOCAD, Revit structures.  
• Working knowledge of current construction practices and contracting standards.
