Principal Structural Engineer (Offshore Design)

Are you a structural engineer with experience of offshore structure design?  This could be the role for you.

We are looking for principal engineers with a good understanding and experience of structural design and analysis for all types of offshore structures; both fixed platforms and floating designs.

As a senior member of the team, you will assume lead roles in the technical delivery of work packages and be involved in developing the capability of a team of engineers.  You will ensure the provision of efficient, high quality structural engineering and also provide advice, leadership and support to colleagues at all levels to help solve technical engineering problems. You will be comfortable working on and leading a range of structural engineering design and analysis projects, either with local colleagues or working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team located across different offices. You will deliver high quality technical work, ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards as well as internal best practice procedures and contribute to continual development of the design approach and methodology.

The Team

Atkins offshore structural engineering capability dates back to the 1970’s and we have been at the forefront of the discipline ever since. Much of our capability originated in the oil and gas sector, and we are still heavily involved in this area. However, we have successfully transferred many of our skills onto a growing number of fixed and floating offshore renewables projects.

Our offices in Epsom, situated in Surrey, are ideally located within close reach of both central London and the Surrey countryside, and are home to around 70 of our offshore renewable and oil & gas professionals. You will become part of a growing team in the Engineering and Consultancy business with opportunities to work across the whole market from Renewables to Oil & Gas.
