Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Procedure Writer to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.


  • Develops procedures in accordance with project requirements.
  • Conducts research and determines effective implementation methods and strategies from technical manuals, policies, vendor specifications, plan documentation and diagrams, design information, interviews, walkdowns, writer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Creates, modifies or upgrades work standards, instructions and procedures to support daily work and change requests for work practices.
  • Tracks procedures revision progress, coordinating with reviewers to incorporate/resolve comments.


  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Capable of managing multiple document revisions at once.
  • Demonstrated capability to understand scientific/technological concepts related to project operations and ensure that these are accurately and consistently portrayed in the appropriate procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of correct usage based on established industry and government standards.
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.


  • Baccalaureate in field related to language/communications preferred.
  • 2 years’ minimum job-related experience, of which 1 year is nuclear.
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing, editing, producing, and cataloguing technical/scientific documents in the nuclear industry as well as other technical fields.
