Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.
Job Description
Performs process and testing analysis.
Develops process designs and identifies operating and control conditions
Supports technology maturation program and recommends design alternatives.
Provides technical interface with Design Agents performing new work to ensure quality and technical accuracy of the work product.
Develops familiarity with DSA, safety-related systems, structures, and components (SSCs) as defined in the facility's Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR),
Configuration Item list, and non-DSA systems.
Reviews and concurs with design changes and ensures that systems documentation is kept current in accordance with configuration management procedures and participates in design reviews and configuration control
Serves as primary point of contact and subject matter expert for assigned systems.
Ensures configuration control is maintained.
Monitors compliance with applicable and relevant standard building codes.
Provides support to procurement as directed by Engineering Manager.
Performs independent design reviews of Facility Safety Basis design packages.
Assists Facility Manager and Maintenance Coordinator on engineering issues related to facility and operations support.
Completes design activities as directed by Engineering Manager
Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles and core functions and the Isotek Safety Culture
Job Requirements
Possesses executive ability as is required for performance of the position and has thorough experience and/or education, the knowledge of standards and work practices used in the installation, operations, construction, testing, and maintenance of processing equipment and systems.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
Education and Experience Requirements
Baccalaureate in engineering or related science.
Minimum of 5 years’ job-related experience, of which 2 years is nuclear.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.
Due to current law, and in conjunction with the advertised position’s scope of work, candidates that are Non-US citizens are required to be submitted for further approval to the NNSA before being considered for hiring purposes.
