Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Professional Assistant to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.

Job Description

The Professional Assistant shall assist the project office with meeting support, technical communications, research & organization, assessment planning & support and professional services.
Meetings Support (20%) – Support planning and scheduling of ad hoc meetings to resolve technical and business issues.

Prepare agendas, presentations, and other written documentation.

Capture actions and prepare basic notes.

Technical Communications (20%) – Draft/edit letters, point papers, and presentations. Assemble information from Subject Matter Experts and draft products that summarize and communicate technical and business positions.

Research and Organization (10%) – Perform basic research, communicate with various SMEs, and develop “Smart Books” for use by Deputy FPD and other project stakeholders.

Assessment planning and support (20%) – Support the planning, documentation, and execution of project assessments.

Professional Services (30%) – Communications, planning, organization, and support as needed.

Professional Assistant will be supplementing existing project Staff. Responsibility for documentation, reporting, coordination, planning remains with client.

Job Requirements/Skills

Must be able to interface with government program representatives on high-level technical and project issues.

Ability to successfully make quick decisions and meet goals while working under severe time constraints

Demonstrated ability to be creative with a keen attention to detail

Possess communication and interpersonal skills

Possess planning, organizational, and analytical skills

Possess the technical knowledge to work with multiple functional areas and offices to provide comprehensive recommendations

Ability to multi-task between changing requirements and priorities

Requires a motivated self-starter who pays attention to details to support assignments while functioning in a time-sensitive, fluid environment

Position may on occasion require unscheduled or extended work hour.

Required Experience

3 years of experience

The work requires experience with Department of Energy or other government agency design, construction or project management work, or professional technical writing experience in an engineering setting.

Successful candidates must be proficient in Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft (MS) Office.

Education

Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Experience

Experience working within the Dept. of Energy Complex
10 years of industry related experience

Certifications
