Primary Function:

Responsible for the preparation, reporting and analysis of cost reporting and costing audits related to projects under scope of responsibility.

Typical Duties:

• Accumulate, allocate and assure accuracy, integrity and timely reporting of cost accounting records and results in accordance with IFRS 15 and established company policy, procedures and deadlines.
• Timely and accurate preparation of Revenue/Profit recognition, Project Financial Statements and reconciliation Hyperion to various report files.
• Prepare/understand project cash flow and analyze monthly/weekly.
• Coordinate accurate preparation and review of client invoice in accordance with contract terms.
• Ensure requirements for multi-currency related transactions are properly hedged/accounted for and prepare hedge effectiveness report on a quarterly basis.
• Coordinate compilation of intercompany agreements and invoicing with accounts receivable specialist.
• Act as liaison between Project Controls and Finance/Accounting on job costing issues.
• Participate in month-end process
• Implement and reconcile Project budget and forecast in ERP system
• Participate in year-end close and financial audit preparation.
• Participate/provide information for external/internal audit requests.
• Prepare/update project forecast within established deadlines for incorporation into corporate quarterly forecasts and annual budget.
• Prepare/record journal entries for area of responsibility.
• Participate in monthly project review meetings and report any noted issues/discrepancies to Divisional Finance Management.
• Coordinate/maintain required work breakdown structure and account level of detail for projects in Oracle included forecast and budget for respective projects.
• Study to understand external/internal client contracts and participate in legal/reporting structure setup and assist in training as required of reporting systems/tools to ensure accurate reporting of projects assigned to area of responsibility.
• Monitor treasury/insurance related items with Project Manager & Corporate to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Strong knowledge of general and cost accounting theory and practice
• Minimum of five years relevant experience required
• Construction and/or international accounting experience preferred
• Requires outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail
• Intermediate Excel and Word Skills required

Working Conditions:

The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office environment. The position generally involves: light to moderate lifting; light carrying; frequent bending and reaching; keyboarding and telephone operation.  The environmental conditions generally include ambient inside temperature, lighting and noise levels. May require an irregular work schedule with occasional travel and overtime hours
