Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team as Project Civil Engineer in our Orlando office.
Under supervision, applies technical professional proficiency to the investigation of engineering problems, the coordination of project activities, and the preparation of construction plans and documents. On design assignments, progresses toward learning how to clearly convey the design intent through site civil engineering drawings and specifications.
On engineering and planning assignments, continues to develop a knowledge of the fundamentals of engineering processes and to apply them successfully to operating systems. On construction assignments, continues to develop an understanding of construction methods and the translation of engineering plans and specifications into constructed product. Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.
Job Duties:
Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, site engineering design and analysis to carry out diversified engineering projects or phases of a single project.
Qualifications:
Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
Experience with site civil land development projects such as commercial, retail, theme park, subdivision and other similar mixed use type projects.
Experience with designing potable water, fire and wastewater systems.
Experience with grading sites and designing stormwater systems. Permitting experience of such project is preferred.
Education:
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. This level my be achieved by Engineers with a minimum 2 years' experience since B.S. or M.S. The typical incumbent has 2 to 10 years' experience since Bachelor's degree
Skills:
Technical writing, computer and communications skills required. CAD skills preferred
Professional Registration:
E.I. or EIT is usually required
