Atkins is currently seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join our Oak Ridge Energy Team as Projects Controls Engineer.


Job Description:

Supports assigned Cost Account Manager (CAM) in development, maintenance, and evaluation of cost accounts.


Maintains and updates Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), schedules, and Project Earned Value databases.


Prepares and updates Project schedule and monitors cost data.


Implements Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and assists management in maintaining certification of EVMS.


Assists Project Controls Lead with preparation of materials and reports required for cost, status and other reports and updates.


 

Maintains a current, resource-loaded schedule of activities, including planned modifications, periodic WBS inspections, testing, and startup.

 

Conducts data searches and compiles information, as requested by Project Controls Manager, to support preparation of routine and special-purpose reports.


Supports development and preparation of forecasts and planning estimates for input to Project cost, schedule, and performance baseline updates or changes.


Assist Project Controls Manager with preparation and maintenance of change control documentation and records.

 

Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System guiding principles and core functions and the Isotek Safety Culture.


Performs other duties as assigned.


 



Job Requirements:



Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.


Strong communication, verbal and written skills.


Strong attention to detail.



Education/Experience:

 


Baccalaureate in engineering, construction management or business administration or 5-10 years project controls experience.


 

Requires minimum of 3 years’ experience in project cost control or project scheduling.


Advanced knowledge of Primavera's P6/P5/P3e and Deltek Cobra or equivalent EVM System Software required.


Experience and demonstrated understanding of project management concepts and products developed by the project management tool, (i.e., resource charts, Pert charts, Gantt charts, concepts of float, schedule status, revisions, etc.).


Experience in developing and implementing project controls policies and processes within EVMS required.


Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.


US citizenship required for Atkins Global Isotek Systems project positions.
