Job Title: Project Engineer

We are seeking enthusiastic Engineers with a drive to work on the construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear new build projects. We are looking to grow our site engineering team based at the Hinkley Point C (HPC) site and we are looking for people who thrive in a dynamic environment and are able to work collaboratively and deliver technical solutions to our client’s problems on one of the world’s largest construction projects.

You’ll be comfortable with variety and varying levels of work demand and want to be involved in the wide-ranging activities undertaken by our site based team. This work includes design management, surveillance, coordination and the review of the design packages, in order to deliver to programme design packages for site construction. You will also be involved in responding to the challenges of a dynamic construction site, such as requests for information, field change requests and non-conformance reports. Your ability to solve problems efficiently will be a key challenge and vital to the success of the project. If solving problems in the design sphere on one of Europe’s biggest and most complex construction projects is of interest then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for people who are motivated with a positive attitude who will join our growing team based at the Hinkley Point C site, Somerset. Ideally you will be located close to the Hinkley Point C site, near Bridgwater, Somerset, or be willing to relocate close to the site.

Your skills are important and your attitude towards taking on fresh challenges is key. You’ll enjoy working closely with other engineers, project managers and multi-disciplinary teams and be able to work with these stakeholders to define solutions.

From a technical perspective, we are seeking people with varied backgrounds and varied levels of experience to support our diverse team. We are looking for our team to have a mix of design experience, site experience and some of this experience within a highly regulated industry such as the nuclear industry. We are looking for:
• Civil Engineers
• Infrastructure Engineers
• Structural Engineers
• Electrical Engineers

In addition to excellent communication and problem-solving skills, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
• Degree qualified Engineer
• Experience of working in teams
• Stakeholder Management skills
• Desire to work at HPC Site
• The ability to speak French, Japanese or Chinese would be an advantage.

Experience of one, or more, of the following aspects is desirable:
• Making informed decisions balancing design, site, schedule and commercial requirements.
• Working knowledge of the detailed design phases and how this is transitioned to the construction phase
• Responsibility for budget and schedule for engineering tasks.
• Working with contractors on site to deliver the implementation of engineering solutions.
• Previous experience of the Energy sector or other highly regulated sectors.
