Faithful+Gould, a member of the SNC Lavalin group, has a current opportunity within our Project Management group for a Senior Project Manager based in our New York office.  The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of large, medium and small real estate projects including ground up and tenant improvements. Responsibilities will include heavy client interaction and full project responsibilities including; senior level guidance and management of the delivery of all project management related services and internal business operations.

- Plans, organizes, and directs activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
- Confers with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals.

- Manages construction project tasks based on proposal provided by F+G, including daily communication with clients and contractors, and coordinating resources iscuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
- Assists with project delivery strategies.
- Schedules the project in logical steps and budgets time required to meet deadlines.
- Coordinates the project procurement, selection of contractors and assists with contract paperwork and management of changes.
- Coordinates QA/QC quality control plans.
- Coordinates safety management plans.
- Coordinates the building permit process and compliance with codes.
- Directs weekly construction meetings.
- Prepares daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
- Reviews contractor applications for payment and recommends payment to client.
- Creates and monitors cost reports for the client.
- Coordinates punch list preparation and project close-out.
- Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

 

Should be able to: articulate clearly in verbal and written communications; model and manage the sequence and stages of project development; and apply good decision-making skills in taking direction from the client and giving direction to the project team.
Must understand and regularly utilize Information Technology and common software systems in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project; and Adobe Acrobat. Capable of preparing well-organized and thorough project reports in a variety of formats.
Must possess a solid understanding of Project Management, Building Design & Construction, Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling, Building Cost Modeling and Risk Analysis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus at least five years relevant experience.
Working knowledge of MS Project and P6 is required.
Must have ability to navigate Web-based construction management software (often provided by the client). Must have experience with setting meetings, organizing agendas, and keeping minutes for projects records.
Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
Construction supervisor’s license is preferred, 30 hour training in OSHA safety requirements, and CMAA.
