Working in AtkinsRéalis this role is based within our Asset Planning and Solutions Practice.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and immediately add value to the clients that we are working with. You'll lead on projects that make an impact throughout the lifecycle of utility assets, supporting our clients’ ambitions to be more efficient while gaining exposure to leading digital solutions that enhance both our clients' and our own experiences.

The role will sit in our specialist project management function within our Utility Solutions team. The location of role is flexible across the UK – with hybrid-working supported – with potential home offices including Birmingham, Bristol, Epsom, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, and Warrington.

Essential Criteria:

  • Project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM, qualified to practitioner level.
  • Demonstrable experience of budget management including estimating, cost tracking, profit management and cashflow forecasting.
  • Strong commercial acumen in contract management and exceptional relationship management skills, developing effective and trusted relationships with our clients.
  • A passion for delivering successful outcomes to clients.
  • Experienced in managing risks, issues, change control and internal / external dependencies.
  • Experienced in the use of resource planning tools.
  • Strong stakeholder Management.
  • A proactive problem solver who strives to deliver sustainable results.
  • Experience of leading dispersed multidisciplinary teams and managing project with limited resources.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly strong with Microsoft Excel.
  • A UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Educated to a degree level.
  • Chartered status (preferred).
  • Have a working understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Good demonstrable knowledge as a project manager.
  • Security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing project leadership to a multidisciplinary team across all lifecycle stages of a project.
  • Ensuring these projects meet business revenue, profit, and cash-flow expectations.
  • Ensuring bids and projects are appropriately resourced and taking a bid leadership role on selective pursuits.
  • Contributing to the bid preparation and work winning process with focus on ensuring the deliverability of the tendered works.
  • Owning and maintaining the project Risk Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies (RAID) log.
  • Establishing and implementing the programme and project change control.
  • Relationship management, developing and maintaining client relationships to support project delivery performance and maximise potential for project extensions and new work.
  • Ensuring compliance with Business Management, HSE and Quality procedures.

  • A clear and thorough communication style, competent communicating at all levels.

Training:

AtkinsRéalis develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development activities designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents.  These are reviewed with individuals through an annual appraisal process.  We actively support staff in achieving corporate membership of relevant institutions. On the job training will be delivered to ensure that the successful candidate is comfortable with the domain in which they would be working.

Rewards and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.  If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
