We are currently looking for an Project Manager, the role is based in KSA.

As a provider of multi disciplined technical services to the built environment, Atkins Middle East is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine innovation, imagination and best practice.

Atkins has been commissioned to embed a Construction Project Management Team working on infrastructure programmes into a key client’s office and organisation based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The client operates within the Defence Sector on a variety of construction projects. The team is responsible for managing the client’s construction programme including the appointment of designers and contractors, undertaking concept design and master planning activities, reviewing, reporting and auditing consultants’ and subcontractors’ submissions.

Principle Accountabilities

The project manager will execute his duties to the highest possible standards. It is expected that the project manager’s role will ensure sound people and project management, and will require include but not be limited to the following key functions:

Manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the design and construction
Revision of Project Management Plan, as required
Implementing an appropriate and effective project or programme management framework, incorporating necessary review processes as required.
Determining and managing risks that may affect the project in any way, particularly schedule, budget or quality / specifications.
Facilitating effective communication and action as main point of contact between the client and site delivery team.
Ensuring the site delivery team receives the necessary stakeholder decisions in a timely fashion.
Establishing a mechanism to ensure collaborative problem solving with the project team, which will involve regular dialogue with contractors, team working and risk-sharing.
Overseeing the award of contracts and ensuring that the client is adequately protected.
Chairing meetings and ensure minutes are actioned in a timely manner.
Providing timely regular and accurate reporting on the project progress, costs and quality as determined by the project director.
Look for opportunities to improve the client’s position in regard to return and value.
Identify and resolve disputes quickly and reasonably.
Developing and maintaining good relationships with client representatives, consultants, contractors and adjoining property owners.
Receiving and reviewing detailed reports on the project from the site delivery team.
Establishing formal reporting arrangements on project progress for the client.

Technical Competencies

Essential

University degree qualified in construction related discipline
Registered professional engineer with at least 8 years post qualification experience - Preferably registered in UK, USA or EU.
Minimum 2+ years of PM experience
Good all round experience from front end to delivery
Commercial awareness
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera software
Administrative skills
Delegation skills
Client and stakeholder facing experience

Good understanding of Middle East Building Codes

Site experience
Design and Build Experience
