SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Orlando, FL Data Transfer Solutions Group as a GIS Project Manager/Sr. Analyst(AMS).


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE


This position will work with the AMS department director and oversee all project management aspects of the Department’s projects. This position is responsible for project/program management, client coordination and business development support. This position is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual revenue generation targets as well as managing project scope to budget.

JOB DUTIES/ROLE
  • It is anticipated that up to 70% of the time will be spent in direct project management while the remaining time will be divided between supporting business development activities (proposals, quotes, shortlists, etc.) and assisting as needed in production and analyses. 
  • This position will be asked to present project findings and analyses to clients as well as their public boards.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills are a must. 
  • This position must have direct experience with GIS, project management and GIS as it relates to asset (infrastructure) management. 
  • Successful applicants will have previous knowledge and skills in operating and maintaining GIS systems prior to assuming the position.
  • Responsible for preparing technical reports and forms; training associated personnel in GIS system use, updates, and data-processing applications.
  • Work is performed primarily independently, under the direction and guidance of a senior departmental management, with work products subject to regular review.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in field(s) of practice. Graduate degree desirable. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus.
  • This level may be achieved with 8 years’ experience in project production and technical professional activities, two of these working as a Sr. Technical Professional.
SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Strong interpersonal skills; good public speaking ability; strong project financial management skills; knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
  • Professional Registration in field of practice preferred if available.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The position requires strong communication, supervision and management skills, including the ability to successfully address multiple priorities, set work goals and monitor staff progress to meet workload and revenue generation demands. 
  • Strong experience and hands-on, practical knowledge using various GIS software such as ArcGIS Server, Arc Info, ArcEditor and ArcView (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox), related extensions, as well as other ESRI products.
  • Successful applicants will demonstrate strong research, analytical and decision-making skills, conflict resolution skills and contract management experience. Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Urban & Regional Planning, Engineering, Natural Science or other related field. 
  • Master of Science degree is preferred. 8+ years GIS experience and GISP certification.
  • Must be highly experienced in GIS applications, database design, and management. 
  • Applicants must have a basic understanding of the concepts behind data management in a relational database.
  • Applicants must possess good IT technical skills and the ability to think and solve problems. Successful applicants must possess strong GIS skills with two or more GIS packages one of which being the ESRI suite of products; We are looking for highly motivated, genuinely excited and enthusiastic applicants who want to develop their skills and push technical limits.
