AtkinsRealis is seeking a Project Manager- Rail & Transit for our New York City, NY office.

How will you contribute to the team?
•    Defines scope of project, with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing and executing project assignments
•    Under direction, provides professional and project management expertise in the direction of highly unconventional projects requiring multiple technical units and/or subcontractors, heavy regulatory agency involvement or extremely complex technical requirements.
•    Functions as a mentor to technical professionals to assist in their training and development.
•    Perform the basic project functions of production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management and marketing.
•    Utilizes existing relationships to identify and pursue business opportunities as well as recruiting top technical staff. 
•    Selects problems for investigation, developing novel approaches and solutions to technical problems
•    Conducts quality control checks, reviewing calculations, designs, evaluations and specifications developed by design staff for accuracy and completeness, performing on-site inspections and reviews, and conducting or overseeing remedial design work
•    Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art methods and developments in area of specialization
•    Recommends changes or improvements to plans and programs.
•    May function as the project manager for routine to semi-complex projects. Responsibilities may include marketing, negotiating contracts, budgeting, financial management, schedule coordination and resources allocation


As a Project Manager you will:
•    Serve as senior technical reviewer for systems engineering document submittals
•    Provide expert oversight to clients to ensure successful projects
•    Analyze systems for conformance to various national and local standards and requirements (FRA, FTA, IEEE, ISO, etc.)
•    Manage contractor submittals for timeliness and technical accuracy
•    Ensure all schedule and budgetary goals are met or exceeded
•    Systems integration lead for design, construction and commissioning
•    Uphold configuration management practices and ensure all changes are performed in a controlled manner
•    Prepare engineering documentation, including plans, interface control documents, specifications, calculations and design services during construction to support various transit projects
•    Coordinate with other team members, clients and contractors to determine requirements and produce optimal solutions.
•    Conduct site inspections and supervise implementation, configuration, testing and commissioning activities.
•    Provide support to clients to ensure the design and implementation of the systems meets code and criteria. 


What will you contribute?
•    B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Communications, Electronics or Information Systems Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
•    10+ years of experience in project production and technical professional activities, four of these working as a systems engineer lead.
•    Certification as a “Project Management Professional” (PMP) or “Certified Construction Manager” (CCM) required within one year of assuming this position.
•    Experience with final design packages including design criteria, drawings, specifications and construction drawing packages.
•    Experience with testing and commissioning.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to work with multiple team members, management, vendors and internal/external customers.
•    Professional Registration in field(s) of practice required, if available.
•    P.E. (Professional Engineer) Licensure is strongly preferred.

Expected Pay Range: $150,000-$250,000
