Job Title: Project Quality Lead – Birmingham, UK

Mission Statement:

Hinkley Point C in the South West will be the first of a new generation of UK nuclear power stations, marking a new milestone in the re-vitalization of the UK's nuclear power industry and providing a clean, secure and affordable source of electricity for around five million homes. Linxon will be providing and installing the equipment that will transfer the power to the National Grid. We require a project lead to oversee all quality activities relating to the project, initially head office based and ideally transfer to site when installation commences.

Main Accountabilities:

  • As the quality lead you will own the project quality plan for the contract, this is a live document that requires continual updating, amending and distributing when required.
  • Ensure all supplier NCRs are logged and actioned both on the client’s portal and internally.
  • Making sure all supplier quality plans are signed off and amended appropriately.
  • Ensuring all quality documentation is stored correctly on our document management system PIRS
  • Ensure all suppliers relevant documentation is in order before any phase of work is started and any ITP’s are progressively signed off during either manufacturing, civils or installation.
  • Conduct supplier audits annually (HPC) highlighting any deviation from ISO 9001 procedures or any customer supplementary processes.
  • Work with Linxon’s external suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and define improvement plans.
  • Support the SCM team in supplier qualification, auditing new and existing suppliers and roll out the training needs of the project.
  • Work with management to set Quality and Operational Excellence priorities and targets, monitor progress, analyze the KPIs and act on deviations from targets.
  • Participate in project reviews and business reviews, share accountability, as a member of the management team, for delivery of project quality results.
  • Attend monthly progress meetings both internal and client this may be in UK or oversees.
  • Ensure monthly quality reports are completed and presented on time.

Challenges:

  • 30% Travel requirement
  • Combination of managerial and hands-on skills

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • University level education in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in a senior Quality & Continuous Improvement function ideally in the EPC environment.
  • Experience in HV turnkey projects
  • Quality qualification
  • Auditing experience essential
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems together with an understanding of H&S and CDM 2015 regs
  • Fluency in English - both written and spoken
  • Six Sigma and Lean experience an advantage

  • Able to work independently

Due to the project location this role would suit individuals based in the South Birmingham area or individuals able to regularly commute to the Project site based in Somerset.
