Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a QC Declassification Analyst to join the nuclear team in Bethesda, Maryland. 

Job Description


As an experienced QC Declassification Analyst, you will work on-site at a government facility in Bethesda, Maryland, in support of the Navy’s Declassification Program.


Each new hire is mentored by a team of professionals dedicated to the Analyst's constant growth and development.


The QC Analyst will conduct second-tier declassification reviews in support of the US Navy, and analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate actions in accordance with the

precepts and protocols set forth by the Navy's ADR program and Executive Order 13526.


The QC Analyst will mentor, assist, and provide feedback to Junior Analysts in an effort to constantly enhance their understanding of classified document markings and symbols, and their ability to apply that knowledge to the different types of documentation assigned


The QC Analyst will utilize analytical skills to make determinations on documents for release, referral to other agencies, and exemption from automatic declassification


The QC Analyst will recognize possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information requiring further review


The QC Analyst will be able to properly handle boxes and documents (boxes can weigh between 15-25 lbs.) and ensure that the integrity of the contents of each and every archival box remains intact

Job Requirements

Must be able to interface with government program representatives on technical and project issues.

Ability to successfully make quick decisions and meet goals while working under severe time constraints

Demonstrated ability to be creative with a keen attention to detail

Possess communication and interpersonal skills

Possess planning, organizational, and analytical skills

Possess the technical knowledge to work with multiple functional areas and offices in order to provide comprehensive recommendations

Ability to multi-task between changing requirements and priorities

Requires a motivated self-starter who pays attention to details to support assignments while functioning in a time-sensitive, fluid environment

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of hands-on experience and knowledge relating to Declassification and E.O. 13526

Military experience with Honorable Discharge and 2 years of hands-on experience and knowledge relating to Declassification and E.O. 13526 OR

Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of hands-on experience and knowledge relating to Declassification and E.O. 13526 OR

Neither of the above, but 5 years of hands-on experience and knowledge relating to Declassification and E.O. 13526

Preferred Experience

Army 71L or USMC 0151, 0121 or similar MOS

Experience working within the Dept of Defense community

5 years of industry related experience


Must have Active DOD Top Secret Clearance

Due to current law, and in conjunction with the advertised position’s scope of work, candidates that are Non-US citizens are required to be submitted for further approval to the NNSA before being considered for hiring purposes.
