Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure

We are looking for Quantity Surveyor to support us on our projects in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Commercial for delivery of various project(s)
  • Strong Client facing and Technical skills
  • Track, manage and ensure commercial actions are completed in a timely manner;
  • Ensure appropriate contract administration is carried out in a proactive manner including issue of various correspondence and resolution of contractual matters;
  • Reporting to Senior Quantity Surveyor on all commercial issues.

Pre contract commercial support on consultancy agreements and building contracts

  • Preparation and management of various cost estimates throughout the pre contract stage
  • Cost control of various cost estimates throughout the pre contract stage
  • Preparation of Bills of Quantities / Contract Sum Analysis etc
  • Preparation of Tender Documentation
  • Evaluation of Tenders and Reporting on same
  • Preparation of Contract Documentation
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Preparation of progress / cost reports
  • Reporting to Managing Quantity Surveyor on all commercial issues
  • Attendance and representation at commercial meetings
  • Risk and value management
  • Assisting in costs analysis project work.

Post contract commercial support on consultancy agreements and building contracts

  • Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs
  • Responsible for reviewing and processing payments to contractors and consultants
  • Variations analysis, recommendations and management
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Preparation of progress / cost reports
  • Prolongation/Claims and Extension of Time analysis and reporting
  • Experience of utilising various forms of contract e.g. FIDIC Red Book, Yellow Book, Bespoke Contracts etc
  • Attendance and representation at commercial meetings
  • Risk and value management
  • Assisting in costs analysis project work
  • Capture lessons learned and use in improvement in various tools and processes and to improve the approach in delivering projects.

Experiences and Qualifications:

  • Project experience in major infrastructure projects or programs. Preference in roads, rail, air with similar experience of 3 years;
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised University;
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience;
  • Chartered status preferable and if not desire to enrol for MRICS APC as minimum;
  • Desirable consultant and/or client background for minimum of 3 years;
  • Middle East experience preferred but not essential;
  • Knowledge in the use of QS software CATO or similar is required;
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Independent worker who is able to lead teams of commercial staff;
  • Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
