Due to Faithful+Gould’s continuing success in delivering commercial and cost management services to high profile clients, our Newcastle upon Tyne office is seeking to recruit a Senior QS / Quantity Surveyor to join their team to support a diverse range of projects across the North East.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated individual to:
• Provide pre and post contract quantity surveying services for our clients
• Plan, organise and control workload under supervision
• Provide a professional interface with our clients and other disciplines
• Ensure the quality and timeliness of service delivery to clients
• Provide full efficient and effective services in all technical and contractual aspects of professional practice

To join us you’ll need:
• Quantity Surveying or equivalent degree from recognised University
• MRICS status is preferred though not essential, just a commitment to work towards it
• Considerable years of post university experience
• To be able to;
o Prepare feasibility studies;
o Manage cost estimating and cost planning process, including presenting final reports to clients;
o Contribute to selecting appropriate procurement route and tendering strategy;
o Prepare tender and contract documents;
o Review, analyse and report on tenders received;
o Understand and administer (under supervision) standard forms of contract, such as JCT and NEC;
o Ensure post contract change is managed effectively;
o Undertake monthly valuations; and
o Negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Good IT skills;
• Strong communication skills making you able to manage stakeholders effectively.

Further skills and experience required:
• Experience in utilising software systems e.g. CostX
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
