Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a RADCON Manager to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.

Job Description

 

Stops work without fear of reprisal for unsafe conditions potentially affecting personnel safety or environmental risk.

 

Participates in the hiring process that ensures positions are staffed with personnel who possess the appropriate education and experience and who can be successful in meeting training and qualification requirements that ensure personnel are appropriately indoctrinated and trained to the necessary competence level for performing their duties.

 

Manages the activities, professional development and performance of personnel performing work within their respective department.

 

Assesses Radiation Protection Program for compliance with 10 CFR 835. Participates in work planning to ensure compliance with Radiation Protection Program.

 

Ensures safe and proper supervision, monitoring, operation, and maintenance of assigned systems and areas.

 

Supports design through development and implementation of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) process.

 

Establishes and maintains Personal Exposure Records and tracks dose to employees and members of the public to ensure that administrative and legal limits are not exceeded. Ensures that non-conformance, occurrence, and dose reports are generated and dispositioned as required.

 

Functions as primary interpretative authority on matters related to the RADCON program.

 

Maintains awareness of radiological operations within the Project and participates in critiques/investigations involving radiological issues as requested.

 

Supports field activities related to RADCON and provides resources to conduct Radiological Worker training.

 

Generates RWPs, recommends and approves dosimetry and bioassay requirements for work.

 

Maintains the source control program and develops the Dosimetry Program and Instrumentation Program.

 

Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles and core functions and the Isotek Safety Culture.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.



Job Requirements

Supervisory experience required.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Strong communication, verbal and written skills

Education / Experience / Certifications

Baccalaureate in engineering or related science; Masters preferred

Minimum 10 years’ DOE experience

Minimum 10 years’ nuclear experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Radiological Control Manager
