  1. Transportation

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Atkins is shaping the future of transportation and we’re looking for talented people to join us in developing and expanding our Transport Asset Management practice. You’ll join at an exciting time with asset management being a key growth theme across both our Transportation and wider businesses.

Our rail asset management team is an important growth area and we’re looking for a range of staff across a wide range of roles and grades from Associate Director to Consultant level. So if you’ve experience in asset management at any level then we want to hear from you!

You’ll work on advisory projects throughout the asset management lifecycle but predominantly focus on supporting clients to achieve higher effectiveness and greater efficiency. This could be through development of an asset management strategy or by helping to shape organisational capability and structure. We provide a full range of strategic asset management services across the infrastructure management map, including investment decision making, risk assessment, digital asset management, contingency planning, lifecycle and value optimisation, and asset systems performance monitoring.

The people we’re seeking to employ will enjoy contributing across a portfolio of consultancy projects and will thrive in a busy, innovative and challenging environment. You’ll be technically excellent, whatever your level of experience and will be equally happy presenting to a client or developing technical details back at the office.

At Atkins we are leaders in asset management and provide advisory services across many sectors both in the UK and overseas. In our transportation practice we work with rail clients in Central and Local Government bodies, Transport Authorities, Network Rail and Train Operators. In Highways we advise Government bodies, Highways England and Local Authorities. Although we’re looking for individuals with rail experience we are one team across transportation and the Atkins group so we’re keen to hear from those with wider experience. You will have the chance to broaden and develop your career in a number of directions when you join us.

The core of our rail team is based at our London office but we’re a flexible employer and will consider the right candidates nationally. A typical week will see you both in our Atkins offices and also visiting clients across the country. We also support the wider Atkins group with international projects and occasional overseas travel will form part of all roles.

We’re looking to grow and enhance our team with people who can demonstrate:

• Enthusiasm and a proven technical passion for asset management
• Excellent understanding of UK Rail industry and stakeholders
• An innovative approach and clear view on the future of the sector
• Experience in managing projects and assignments, especially in a consultancy environment
• Creative yet structured approach to understanding client needs and creating winning bids
• Confident working in a client facing environment
• Great communication and engagement skills, supported with strong report writing ability
• Experienced in project lifecycles and project management
• Commitment to professional and personal career development

We offer a fantastic environment with fresh, modern offices that buzz with the excitement of people working at the very forefront of our industry. Join us and you’ll be joining a business that places no limits on how far you can progress. You’ll gain experience on a diverse range of industry-leading projects, have the opportunity to inspire and be inspired by colleagues in offices across the UK and the globe. You’ll benefit from our promotion-from-within policy and you’ll enjoy an exceptional rewards and benefits package including forward-thinking flexible working options to ensure that working with us works for you.

We offer flexible working and are committed to equal opportunities as we know from our experience that diverse teams provide the best mix of interpersonal and technical skills needed to exceed our customers’ expectations.
