Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Records Classification Analyst Trainee to join the nuclear team in Bethesda, Maryland.

Job Description

As an Entry Level Records Classification Analyst, you will work on-site at a government facility in Bethesda, Maryland, in support of the Navy’s Declassification Program.

Each new hire is provided multiple training and certification courses from day one of employment, and mentored by a team of professionals dedicated to the Junior Analyst's constant growth and development.

The Analyst will be trained to conduct initial declassification reviews in support of the US Navy, and analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate actions in accordance with the precepts and protocols set forth during their training and certification

The Analyst will be instructed in the understanding of classified document markings and symbols, and apply said knowledge to the different types of documentation assigned

The Analyst will utilize analytical skills to make determinations on documents for release, referral to other agencies, and exemption from automatic declassification

The Analyst will recognize possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information requiring further review

The Analyst will be able to properly handle boxes and documents (boxes can weigh between 15-25 lbs.) and ensure that the integrity of the contents of each and every archival box remains intact



Job Requirements


Must be able to interface with government program representatives on technical and project issues.

Ability to successfully make quick decisions and meet goals while working under severe time constraints

Demonstrated ability to be creative with a keen attention to detail

Possess communication and interpersonal skills

Possess planning, organizational, and analytical skills

Possess the technical knowledge to work with multiple functional areas and offices in order to provide comprehensive recommendations

Ability to multi-task between changing requirements and priorities

Requires a motivated self-starter who pays attention to details to support assignments while functioning in a time-sensitive, fluid environment

Military experience with Honorable Discharge OR

Bachelor’s Degree in related field OR

Neither of the above, but 2 years of hands-on experience and knowledge relating to Declassification and E.O. 13526

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years of hands-on experience in a related field

Preferred Experience


Army 71L or USMC 0151, 0121

Experience working within the Dept of Defense community

Background in, research and analysis, historical analysis, legal documentation and archiving, records management or Cold War era intelligence

1 year of industry related experience

Clearance


Must have Active DOD Top Secret Clearance


Due to current law, and in conjunction with the advertised position’s scope of work, candidates that are Non-US citizens are required to be submitted for further approval to the NNSA before being considered for hiring purposes. In addition, any candidates with dual citizenship in the US and another country must undergo further review for approval by the NNSA.
