We are currently looking for an experienced Safety Officer to work on various property and transportation projects in the UAE. This role open for UAE Nationals Only, holding a Family Book.

Working in a multidiscipline team of designers and engineers providing a comprehensive service to our clients, this is a great opportunity to gain experience within an internationally renowned consultant, affording the opportunity to work on large and small scale multidiscipline projects, in the UAE.

Requirements

Technical Competencies

Essential

Shall be qualified with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety from an accredited university or in related field plus Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience and qualification in Safety at major highway projects.
Must possess excellent working knowledge of industry practices/safety/quality management systems.
Required to monitor safety procedures, determine cause of unsafe condition through procedure review, equipment and facilities inspection, and worker observation with corrective action recommendations provided.
Required to review and oversee procedures for investigating construction accidents.
Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.

Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive manner
Excellent communication skills – written and spoken English essential

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer, your duties will include the following:

Liaise with the inspectors and ensure that uniform high standards are maintained across all the works.
Ensure that works are carried out in a safe manner.
Ensure that the site is maintained in a clean and tidy state.
Ensure that the safety of the public is not jeopardized.
Ensure safety of the equipment and facilities inspection.
Review the contractor’s safety plan and monitor compliance with the plan.
Review and oversee procedures for investigating construction accidents.
Other duties as requested from time to time.
