Come join our growing team of exceptional leaders! This senior leader sits on the Senior Leadership Team and will direct and oversee the assignments, activities, and resources of a sector housed within a client-facing Business Unit (BU). Provides leadership, direction and guidance to project directors, division managers and managers within an assigned sector to ensure proper execution of projects. Actively works with Business Unit Director, Sub Sector Leads, as well as the Business Development Managers, to develop and implement strategy and to identify opportunities for staffing projects, pursuits, and to encourage cross-selling. Ultimately responsible for client relations, quality control and safety, and financial performance. This position will be preferably located in one of our following offices: Minneapolis, MN; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL; or Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities include:

Strategy and Vision:

-Works with the BU Director, Business Development Director and Sub Sector leads to develop and implement a strategic vision for the Industrial Sector and assist with directing and coordinating efforts toward realizing vision for our work with Automotive, Agrifood, Hi tech, Pharma and General Manufacturing clients.

-Ensures the sector vision contributes to overall BU goals and vision.

-Activities will include: planning, developing, and implementing strategies to expand geographically and grow the services for the sector. Reports progress against developed strategy monthly and quarterly.

 

Client Management and Service:

-Works with BU leadership and other sector management teams to ensure effective delivery against company goals and priorities and to drive BU Sector client service activities.

-Develops client management needs, forecasts staffing needs and procures staff to ensure delivery for Sector projects.

-Works to staff and deliver projects for Sector clients.

-Participates in the recruitment and selection of candidates for senior level Sector jobs.

- Business Performance/Contracts and Financials: Ensures all projects within the sector are delivered successfully against developed key performance indicators.

-Works with BU and sector leadership to develop and deliver annual growth budget.

-Reviews financial performance of projects being managed within the Sector.

-Directs immediate remedial actions to avoid financial losses and client dissatisfaction.

-Negotiates and executes non-standard contracts

- Other key financial elements may include: Recommending operating budgets and development of capital and BD expenditures for the sector; participating in monthly financial close reporting for the sector; providing budgeting and forecasting inputs.

 

Growth and Sales:

-Coordinates with the BU Director, Business Development Manager, Key Account Managers and other sector leaders to drive sales and growth.

-Coordinates and prioritizes sector marketing activities with the Business Development Leader and staff.

-Recommends possible clients and/or project pursuits.

-Maintains contacts with primary current and prospective clients, including initial contacts, presentations, negotiating agreements, keeping client apprised of work progress, and ensuring client's satisfaction; identifies and works toward the resolution of client relations problems.

-Represents the firm at appropriate industrial, professional, technical events to enhance company image and communicate its capabilities.

-Attends and plays a leadership role in professional/technical associations and encourages participation of staff to promote the firm's name.

 

Project Delivery/Project Production and Management:

-Evaluates the sector’s ongoing project activities to ensure that high quality standards and productivity levels are maintained, and to keep abreast of status of major projects.

-Ensures deliverable quality and enforces compliance with established quality control standards, ensuring that appropriate quality assurance activities are being performed.

-Assists managers within the sector in the selection of methods and in the solution of technical problems to maintain or improve profitability

 

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in field of practice.

-Leadership coursework and/or MBA a plus.

-Technical professionals or technical managers with 20 years of experience with at least five of these years in a similar senior operating management position.

- Professional registration in field of practice is required, if available, e.g.,CMAA, P.E, RICS, AACE, PMI.

-Must be collaborative in nature, self-driven, with a focus on both staff and clients.

-Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision making abilities.

-Must be established as a Subject Matter Expert in his/her discipline, display technical leadership skills, and lead strategy and innovation in technical excellence.

-Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology.
