Senior Bridge Inspector

Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tallahassee, FL Construction Management Group as a Senior Bridge Inspector.



MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE
Under supervision, observes the work of contractors involved in the construction of projects. NOTE: Incumbents do not supervise any contractor activities and are not responsible for job site safety.


JOB DUTIES
  • Observes shallow and deep installations, and determines whether construction work is being performed in substantial compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Applies conventional field observation practices in diversified construction project of medium to large complexity.
  • Writes daily inspection reports, performs verification testing, and documents test results and observations.
  • Assists in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as needed.
  • Supervises inspection staff in their performance of their duties in the field.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field and two years related experience.
  • With Associate's degree, ten years of related experience.
  • Without a degree, twelve years related experience is required.
  • Experience with bridge inspection: Complex category 1 & 2 minimum.


SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Good math, communication, computers, and organizational skills.


PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
  • Florida CTQP Certifications to meet Sr. CEI Inspector required.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience with FDOT and/or FDOT Projects highly preferred.
  • FDOT Related Certifications in the field of Inspection a plus.
