Senior Civil Engineer - Rivers, Dams and Maritime - Peterborough

Having attained Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status you will have the chance to apply your skills – maritime, civil, infrastructure or structural – in the delivery of our broad project work, of a national and international nature, enabling clients to manage their assets and operations more efficiently and safely through an integrated approach, bringing order into our changing world. Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering rivers, dams and maritime projects from inception to handover, on budget and to deadlines.
• Act as Project Manager on engineering projects
• Identify opportunities and prepare bids to commercial and competitive standards for the future success of the business;
• To maintain and expand a portfolio of clients, maintaining excellent professional relationships which can lead to secure repeat business; being the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties;
• Ensuring the quality of project work meets the agreed standards and specifications.
• Leading and mentoring colleagues in developing technical knowledge and understanding.

Requirements

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (ie MICE or IStructE) with solid post-Chartership experience in river, dam or maritime engineering environments;
• Able to make decisions and act on your own initiative;
• Leadership and management capability;
• Client engagement skills;
• Proven track record of working collaboratively with other disciplines and supply chain in delivering major multidisciplinary engineering design projects to time and budget.
• Able to generate innovative digital solutions to challenges and follow them through.
• Working familiarity with relevant technical codes of practice and industry standards is essential; from initial planning through to construction management.
• Working knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and codes of practice;
• Excellent written and verbal skills when communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Able to make decisions and act on your own initiative;
• Valid UK driving licence, be available to travel across UK and occasionally overseas.
