We are seeking a Senior Dry Utilities Engineer. We are looking for Electrical Engineers with Infrastructure Utility design (EHV/MV/LV/Street Lighting) to undertake engineering design roles. The candidate shall have Middle East project experience for Masterplan and Infrastructure design works. The candidate shall have experience in Dry utilities network design such as HV, MV, LV, Street lighting and Telecom. This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified person with an engineering consultancy or energy sector background to gain further experience within an internationally renowned consultancy. The Candidate shall have 10 to 15 years of experience in the infrastructure projects for masterplan design and Infrastructure design.

This position is for the Networks team within the infrastructure vertical at Cairo.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Calculation of Power demand as per industrial bench marking
  • Preparation of Single line Diagrams (SLD)
  • Transformer sizing, cable sizing, breaker sizing, capacitor bank sizing for MV and LV system
  • MV and LV network design and cable routing, shall be having very good knowledge of Cable trench, duct bank and manhole design.
  • Primary Substation and Secondary Substation location based on the local standards.
  • Street lighting calculation, Street lighting network design, street lighting feeder pillar location identification and preparation LV cable schedule.
  • Telecom (Fixed and GSM) Network design and cable routing with identification of Junction box, telecom exchange room and meet me room location.
  • Design report for Power, Street lighting and Telecom network.
  • Specification of Power, Telecom, and street lighting
  • Clash detection and co-ordination with other Utilities
  • Experience in preparation of Basis of design, design report for the projects.
  • Knowledge of Relevant Electrical Codes and Standards.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations, voltage drop and cable sizing.
  • Standard drawing for dry utilities network
  • Experience in Utility Corridor design.
  • Client and Authority co-ordination experience.
  • Shall have the knowledge of Bidding the infrastructure projects

We are looking for the following personal qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in Infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good Presentation Skills
  • Contribute to maintaining existing and developing new client relationships
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites when required
  • Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
  • Fosters team building.

  • Take initiative to pull the team together and accomplish team goals.
