We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical and Lighting Engineer to join the team, based out of our Leatherhead offices.

 

In this position you will work within the design team to support the Energy Manager and Street Lighting Asset Manager, in order to deliver cost effective designs for Street lighting and electrical works.




Responsibilities

  • ·         Produce electrical and lighting designs for CPS funded schemes and third party schemes
  • ·         Manage external resources to deliver electrical and lighting designs
  • ·         Report on resourcing issues and contribute information to allow a forward resource plan to be produced and maintained.
  • ·         Agree the briefs, programmes and budgets with the Design Manager/Project Manager/Energy Manager or client
  • ·         Provide information from projects to the Engineering manager to ensure  network lighting inventory is updated through the confirm system
  • ·         To be responsible for lighting and electrical surveys on the network ensuring that any works are actioned and the data collected is used to support schemes in the Asset management Forward Plan
  • ·         Collate and analysis data from condition scores and inspection regimes, to produce reports as and when received for CPS and stakeholders
  • ·         Liaison with internal and external 3rd parties for information transfer
  • ·         Report on a bi-weekly basis to the Design Manager on performance against budget and programme
  • ·         Carry out other duties required by the Design Manager
  • ·         Support other areas of the business, including asset, service delivery and project delivery

Skills and Experience -


  • ·         Relevant vocational qualifications (MEng /MSc/BEng/BSc/HNC and HND
  • ·         Ideally Membership of an appropriate professional institution (ILP and/or IET)
  • ·         Ideally Registered with the Engineering Council to IEng.
  • ·         Substantial knowledge and experience of  Electrical design and Street lighting design, preferably on HE networks
  • ·         Knowledge of highways electrical systems and general electrical systems
  • ·         Excellent IT skills ideally data base management experience
  • ·         Strong Project management skills
  • ·         Knowledge of the Highways England and Connect Plus Services procedures necessary to deliver a project
  • ·         Broad skills, knowledge and understanding of other highway related design areas
  • ·         Knowledge of CDM and other H&S legislation
  • ·         Competent in exercising the Designer’s obligations of CDM
  • ·         Hold appropriate CSCS card registration
  • ·         Broad knowledge of Quality Management & IMS
