Senior Engineer - Wastewater/Drainage

Our Networks & Drainage Engineering team is one of the largest in the UK with clients that include utility companies, local government and authorities and independent businesses. We are currently seeking a Senior Designer Wastewater/Drainage to join our team based in Belfast.

They should be able to work at a senior engineer level and to work to technical, programme and budget requirements.



Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (but will consider other disciplines or qualifications depending on experience).
  • AutoCAD/Civils 3D
  • Experience of civils design of wastewater and drainage infrastructure and non-infra assets
  • Awareness NEC Contracts
  • IEng/CEng with appropriate institution
  • Capable of leading project teams and mentoring.
  • Understanding of H, S & W Issues in the industry including CDM

Desirable:

  • Familiar with Sewers for Adoption
  • Micro-drainage
  • Experience of Highway Drainage Design
  • Experience of NEC Contracts
  • An understanding of UK water industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Scoping, Survey management and procurement, design of Solutions
  • Reviewing Technical Drawings and Calculations undertaken by others.
  • Contract and Financial Management
  • Interfacing with clients on projects.
  • Mentoring of junior staff.
  • Contributing towards technical innovation.
  • Compliance with Atkins Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Training

Atkins develops individuals through appropriate on the job training and development courses designed to help individuals make the best of their abilities and talents. These are reviewed with individuals through an annual appraisal process. We actively support staff in achieving corporate membership of relevant Institutions.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
