The role of Senior GIS Analyst is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right person to gain experience implementing GIS solutions across disciplines and through all parts of a projects life cycle. The successful candidate will work out of our Bristol office. This position would suit someone who has experience of liaising with senior project staff, project managing a group of GIS staff and with the ability to see the full potential of GIS to a multi-disciplinary project environment.

Essential
• A degree qualification in GIS or a related field and substantial professional experience using it.
• Experience using ArcGIS 10x and its extensions
• Experience of providing GIS support to multi discipline, client focused, project environments
• Work directly with internal clients
• Sell the benefits of GIS internally
• Proven experience of delivering to deadlines within pressurised environments
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
• Able to work on your own and with the wider GIS team
• Provides high quality outputs under pressure
• Holds or is able to attain security clearance

Desirable
• Experience of working in a multi disciplinary consultancy
• Experience with working and controlling a large number of evolving datasets
• Experience of creating work benches in FME
• Hands on experience of using CAD derived data within a GIS environments
• Experience of providing information management advice or solutions to multi-disciplinary projects
• Excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities
• Work as an effective member of a GIS project team on high profile infrastructure projects.
• Key contact for GIS data capture, cartography, analysis and modelling within Atkins
• Sell the benefits of GIS in a multi disciplinary environment
• Provide GIS support on projects (both internal to Atkins and externally direct with clients) to various disciplines from around Atkins
• Identify and develop business opportunities by providing client focused GIS solutions
• Project manage internal GIS tasks

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
